About Orai
Spot the AI. Daily.
Orai (a play on "Or AI?") is a free daily web game where you guess whether 6 images are AI-generated or real photographs. It's like Wordle, but for AI image literacy — everyone gets the same 6 images each day, and you build a streak by playing daily.
Our mission: Make AI image detection a daily habit. As AI-generated images become indistinguishable from photographs, the ability to tell AI from real is a critical 21st-century skill — and we believe the best way to build that skill is through short, daily practice with immediate feedback.
Why We Built Orai
In 2026, AI image generators like Midjourney, DALL-E 3, and Stable Diffusion can create photorealistic images that fool almost anyone at a glance. AI images are now used in news, social media, advertising, and even fraud. The average person has no reliable way to tell what's real.
We noticed two things:
- AI detection tools (like AI image detectors) are unreliable and give binary yes/no answers without explaining why
- Educational content about AI image detection exists, but it's passive — you read an article, forget it, and can't apply it in real life
Orai fills this gap. Instead of a detector that's wrong half the time, Orai teaches you the visual patterns AI images leave behind. Instead of a dry article, Orai gives you daily hands-on practice with instant feedback. You learn to spot AI images the same way you learn any skill — through repetition and feedback.
What "Orai" Means
Orai is pronounced "or-eye" — a playful contraction of the question "Or AI?" that you ask yourself with every image. The name captures the game's spirit: it's not about being paranoid or trusting nothing, but about developing a sharper eye for what's real.
How Orai Works
Every day at midnight (your local time), a new puzzle appears with 6 images across a theme — Nature, Architecture, Portraits, Animals, Food, and more. For each image, you tap AI or Real. After each guess, you get:
- Instant feedback — was the image AI or real?
- A one-line detection tip — what specific "tell" reveals whether it's AI, drawn from 12 categories of AI image flaws
Complete all 6 to build your daily streak. Score 6/6 to earn the "AI Whisperer" badge. Miss a day, and your streak resets.
Our Approach to AI Literacy
We believe AI literacy should be:
- Accessible — free, no signup, works on any phone
- Habitual — daily practice builds lasting skill, not one-off cramming
- Transparent — we teach you why an image looks AI, not just whether it is
- Judgment-free — everyone gets fooled. The goal is improvement, not perfection
